THE INFLUENCE OF INDIVIDUAL LEARNING STRATEGIES IN INCREASING STUDENTS'LEARNING INDEPENDENCE IN SUBJECTS ISLAMIC RELIGION AND CIVIL EDUCATION CLASS VII

This study is motivated by the low learning independence of students in Islamic religious education subjects and class VII ethics. There are several factors that make students not yet have learning independence, namely the absence of self-awareness of the importance of education and making good use of time, the influence of friends who are lazy to learn, and the influence of families who pay less attention to children's behavior in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of individual learning strategies in increasing students' learning independence in Islamic religious education and ethics subjects in class VII. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a pre test-post test control group design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students in the 2023/2024 academic year with a total of 105 people, while the samples were class VII A as the experimental class and VII B as the control class. The data collection method was done with a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is prerequisite analysis and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the average learning independence before applying the individual learning strategy was 64 and the average learning independence after applying the individual learning strategy was 71. Based on hypothesis testing with SPSS version 29, sig α < 0.05 is obtained, namely 0.03, which means 0.03 < 0.05, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected and T count > T table, namely 2.204 > 2.004, which means Ha which says there is an effect of individual learning strategies in increasing the learning independence of students in Islamic religious education and ethics class VII.
