THE INFLUENCE OF CROSSWORD PUZZLE LEARNING STRATEGIES ASSISTED WITH THE CROSSWORD LABS APPLICATION ON SOCIAL SCIENCE LEARNING OUTCOMES

This research is based on the fact that learning is good, but learning outcomes are less than satisfactory because the learning media used is not appropriate, making students sleepy when educators explain the material and no longer paying attention to the lesson and student responses are still low. This research aims to, (1) find out the pretest picture before being given the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy treatment, (2) find out the posttest picture after being given the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy treatment, (3) To find out the effect of using the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy. This research uses a quantitative design method which is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design with a sample of 29 students. Sampling technique Random sampling. The technique used to test the hypothesis uses the Paired samples t test with normally distributed data. Based on the classification of the experimental class pre-test results, it can be said that the description of the pre-test results of the learning outcomes of class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 IV Koto Aur Malintang in the Social Sciences subject obtained a mean of 58.58 and a post-test of 80.92. Data analysis was carried out using the t-test with SPSS version 20. Based on the t-test analysis, it was found to be sig (2-tailed), namely (0.000<0.05), this means that there is an influence of the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy on student learning outcomes in Social Sciences Lessons at SMP Negeri 1 IV Koto Aur Malintang.
