IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MERDEKA CURRICULUM IN THE DIGITAL ERA: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

The Merdeka Curriculum is a curriculum designed to accommodate the needs of students in the digital era. This curriculum gives a broader autonomy to teachers and schools in determining curricula, learning methods, and assessments. Implementation the Merdeka Curriculum in the digital age has challenges and opportunities. The challenges faced include: (1) the readiness of teachers to use technology, (2) the availability of digital infrastructure, (3) the support of parents, and (4) the lack of digital content that matches the Merdeka Curriculum. Opportunities that can be exploited in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the digital era are, among others: (1) learning becomes more interactive and enjoyable, (2) students can learn independently and according to their interests, (3) students can develop digital skills.
