THE INFLUENCE OF THE PROBING PROMPTING LEARNING MODEL ON STUDENTS' LEARNING OUTCOMES IN SOCIAL SCIENCE SUBJECTS AT CLASS VII SMPN 2 IX KOTO

This research is motivated by a one-way learning process that does not involve students, leading to boredom during the learning process. The lack of creativity among educators in using diverse teaching methods, such as discussions, question and answer sessions, demonstrations, and other techniques, negatively impacts student learning outcomes. One way to address this issue is through the use of the Probing Prompting learning model in social science subjects. The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine the pre-test results using the Probing Prompting learning model in social science subjects at SMPN 2 IX Koto; 2) To determine the post-test results using the Probing Prompting learning model in social science subjects at SMPN 2 IX Koto; 3) To assess the effect of the Probing Prompting learning model on student learning outcomes at SMPN 2 IX Koto. The results show that the average pre-test score for the experimental class in social studies is 47.61, and the average post-test score is 87.14. Based on hypothesis testing using SPSS version 20, the significance value (2-tailed) is 0.000, indicating a significant effect of the Probing Prompting learning model on student learning outcomes in social science subjects for seventh grade at SMPN 2 IX Koto.
