INCREASING TEACHER PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE IN USING YOUTUBE MEDIA AS AN ARABIC LANGUAGE LEARNING RESOURCE

Teacher pedagogical competence is an important element in successful learning. Achievement of goals is also the output of competent pedagogical competence. The aim of this research is to describe the pedagogical competence of Arabic language teachers at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level in using YouTube as a learning resource. This research used a qualitative research design with 17 PPG (Teacher Professional Program) teacher informants from Arabic language teaching backgrounds at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level in various regions. The research results show that; 1) Teacher Professional Program activities play a role in improving teachers' pedagogical competence, 2) Design for using YouTube in learning includes analyzing material needs, preparing teaching materials in the form of language skills and language elements, identifying teaching material designs that originate from learning objectives, identifying images and sounds , video creation and media product validation with experts. Research findings confirm that teacher creativity in developing media can improve the quality of Arabic language learning outcomes. This research is still limited to a heterogeneous sample, so researchers recommend focusing the study on the theme of teacher pedagogical competence.
