Abstract

The development of the curriculum in recent years has become a major highlight in the field of education, therefore this study aims to outline the basis for curriculum development. This research uses the method used in this study using a method or library approach (library research), that library or literature study can be defined as a series of activities related to library data collection methods, reading and recording and processing research materials. The results of this study indicate that the curriculum must be made based on philosophical foundations such as idealism, realism, and pragmatism. The psychological foundation also has an important influence in the preparation of the curriculum, because the curriculum must adapt to the psychological conditions of students. And in its development, the curriculum must use a sociological and science and technology foundation, so that it is flexible to follow the changing times. This curriculum development foundation needs to be well understood so that curriculum development, especially in Indonesia, can run according to the foundations mentioned, namely the philosophical foundation, psychological foundation, and sociological and science and technology foundation.
