STRENGTHENING TEACHERS' SKILLS IN IMPLEMENTING THE MERDEKA CURRICULUM

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is currently being implemented in the field of education in Indonesia. This curriculum was introduced as an effort to revamp early childhood, elementary, and secondary education, starting from the academic year 2022/2023. At Pondok Pesantren Darul Makmur, there are still many teachers who are not familiar with and do not fully understand the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as the key considerations in its implementation. Therefore, it is necessary to provide training and support to the teachers at Pondok Pesantren Darul Makmur regarding the Merdeka Curriculum. This training also aims to equip participants with the skills to create learning objectives, the flow of educational goals, and the selection of appropriate methods tailored to their students' characteristics. The method used in this training is participatory training, conducted over a period of 3 days. The results of this training and support demonstrate a shift in the insights, knowledge, and skills of the teachers at Pondok Pesantren Darul Makmur in relation to the Merdeka Curriculum. Furthermore, reflections from the training indicate that the teachers are enthusiastic and actively engaged in each training session, and they feel that they have gained insights into creating learning objectives, the flow of educational goals, and differentiated instruction. As a result, the teachers have a positive outlook and energy to implement the Merdeka Curriculum at Pondok Pesantren Darul Makmur.
