Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) To find out the learning motivation of students who follow the conventional learning model using the lecture method in the subject of Islamic cultural history in class VIII MTsN 3 South Coast (2) To find out the learning motivation of students who take part in learning using the Role Playing learning model in the subject history of Islamic culture in class VIII MTsN 3 South Coast (3) To find out whether the Role Playing learning model is different from the conventional learning model using the lecture method on students' learning motivation in the subject of history of Islamic culture in class VIII MTsN 3 South Coast This type of research is eksperimental research (Quasi Eksperimental Design). The population in this study were all class VIII students at MTsN 3 South Coast for the 2022/2023 academic year. Sampling was done by Random Sampling, the class selected as the experimental class was VIII.2 and the control class was VIII.1. The results showed that the average value of the control class was 76.88 and the average value of the experimental class was 85.50. Based on the hypothesis, the significance of the two average difference test (0.012<0.05). Therefore, it can be said that Ho which means there is no significant effect using the Role Playing learning model is rejected and Ho is accepted, which means that there is a significant effect using the Role Playing learning model compared to conventional learning models in Islamic cultural history subjects in class VIII MTsN 3 South Coast.
