THE URGENCY OF DIGITAL LITERACY IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the urgency of literacy in the school environment to train children's intelligence, psychology, language skills, cognitive, emotional, social, academic and critical skills. The research method used is library research or library methods. The data collection technique used is to collect various reading reference materials that are relevant to the problem being studied, then carry out careful in-depth understanding so that various findings are obtained. The research results show that digital literacy is the ability to use information and communication technology to find, evaluate, utilize, create and communicate content or information with cognitive, ethical, social, emotional skills and technical or technological aspects. The conclusion of this research is that digital literacy skills are very important to be developed by all elements in the world of education. The forms of implementing digital literacy in schools are divided into implementation in the classroom and outside the classroom. The hope is that with digital literacy skills, digital users, namely educators and students in schools, can increase intelligence and facilitate the teaching and learning process.
