THE INFLUENCE OF THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL INDEX CARD MATCH TYPE ON THE LEARNING OUTCOMES OF ISLAMIC CULTURAL HISTORY IN GRADE VII AT MTSN 2 PADANG

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, the lack of activity of students in the learning process and the application of conventional learning models in delivering material in the History of Islamic Culture subject class VII MTsN 2 Padang City. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the Index Card Match type Cooperative Learning learning model in improving the learning outcomes of class VII students at MTsN 2 Padang City in the subject History of Islamic Culture. This research uses a type of quantitative experimental research with a Quasi Experimental research design. The population in this study were students of class VII MTsN 2 Padang City. Sampling was carried out using non-random sampling with the Quota Sampling type, namely taking samples from a population that has certain characteristics. The samples used in this research were class VII.1 as the experimental class and class VII.2 as the control class. The research results showed that the score obtained in the experimental class post-test reached a percentage of 86.67%. Meanwhile, the post-test results for the control class reached a percentage of 50%. After testing the hypothesis using SPSS Statistics 25 for Windows software, we obtained a Sig.(2-tailed) result of 0.001, so it was concluded that Sig.(2-tailed) < 0.05, meaning 0.001 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that H_O is rejected and H_A is accepted, meaning that there are differences in student learning outcomes through the application of the Index Card Match type Cooperative Learning learning model in the History of Islamic Culture subject class VII MTsN 2 Padang City.
