THE INFLUENCE OF SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING METHODS ON STUDENT LEARNING RESULTS IN PAI SUBJECTS
Abstract
This study aims to obtain data so that the description of the learning outcomes of groups of students taught using the Self-Directed Learning method, the description of the learning outcomes of groups of students taught not using the Self-Directed Learning method, and the differences in learning outcomes of groups of students taught using the Self-Directed Learning method with the learning outcomes of groups of students taught not using the Self-Directed Learning method in the subject of Islamic Religious Education. This type of research is quantitative using an experimental method. The population in this study were all students in grade VII at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bukit Tinggi totaling 283 students. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, so that a sample of 63 students was obtained. The data collection technique used a post-test instrument. Data processing through prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests. The results showed that the mean learning outcomes in the experimental class were 77.94 and the mean learning outcomes in the control class were 71.61. Based on the t-test, the sig. (2-tailed) value was obtained as much as 0.046 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an influence of the Self-Directed Learning method on student learning outcomes in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education for Class VII at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bukit Tinggi.
