ISLAMIC WORLDVIEW AS THE BASIS FOR THE DIRECTION OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT BASED ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Abstract

The development of technology has led people into an era of disruption, where the order of life is changing very rapidly. Artificial intelligence is one of the driving forces behind these changes. The presence of AI is not really something that brings only benefits, but its presence also brings serious problems for morality and ethics. On the other hand, Islamic education must also keep up with technological developments and AI. However, in the absence of something to be used as a principle in its development, it is inevitable that issues of morality and ethics in AI can divert the direction of the development of Islamic education from its essence and purpose. This article tries to explain how the Islamic worldview as a basis for solving the problems posed by AI, so as not to deflect the direction of the development of Islamic education, but rather, the presence of AI can provide benefits in the development of Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach. The data processing technique is done by collecting, reducing and presenting the analyzed data. The results show that the Islamic worldview must be embedded in the epistemological process of AI. This can be done by considering the definition of AI as "science and engineering". The role of maqashid shari'ah and mashlahah must also be considered in the development of Islamic education based on AI.
