THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FLIPPED CLASSROOM LEARNING MODEL ON CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF 11TH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMA 1 PADANG GELUGUR

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students. This is because learners are less encouraged to develop their thinking skills and learning in the classroom is only directed to memorize information without being required to understand what they remember and learning models that are less innovative. Another factor is less learner-centered and the allocation of little time during activities so that it becomes an inhibiting factor for students to understand learning. One of the ways that can be done to overcome this is by applying The Flipped Classroom learning model. This type of research is a quasi-experimental reaserch with counteer balance design. The population in this study were students of class XI IPA SMA 1 Padang Gelugur in the 2022/2023 school year with the sampling technique was random sampling. The research instruments used were test questions for critical thinking skills with data analysis used, namely t-test and collaborative abilities using observation sheets with data analysis used, namely percentage analysis. The results showed that the skills to think critically in class XI IPA 1 experienced an increase which previously used a scientific model to use The Flipped Classroom model while in class XI IPA 2 experienced an increase in critical thinking skills. Based on the t test at 5% significance, the calculated t value of both classes (2.92 and 2.02) is higher than the t table (1.99) so that the hypothesis of The Flipped Classroom model is better than the scientific model is accepted.
