SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE SOCIETY 5.0 ERA: BENEFITS OR THREATS TO ARABIC LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN INDONESIA

Arabic language education in the digital era has forced teachers to be more creative and innovative in using social media as a learning medium. This aims to ensure that students do not feel bored when learning Arabic. This research was conducted to analyze the influence of social media in general on Arabic language learning. In its implementation, the author used the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) research method. This research data comes from the documentation of all articles that have similar discussions with a research focus. The number of articles used as research data sources includes 16 national articles and 8 international articles from several reputable journal websites. The research results show that social media can be used as a medium for monitoring and evaluating learning, a tool for accessing learning materials, a learning discussion forum, and a collaborative and innovative learning place. Apart from that, this research also shows the dangers of using social media in Arabic language learning activities, including: causing social media addiction, less validated learning resources, distracting students' concentration, and cyberbullying. The results of this research hope to make students and teachers wiser about using social media during Arabic language learning activities because they already know the benefits and dangers.
